DuoTec LLC (“DuoTec,” “we,” “us”) builds websites and software for local businesses in Hampton Roads, Virginia. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do — and do not do — with it.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to answer you and to run the services you ask for:
- Information you submit through our intake form or by email — your name, business name, email address, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your project.
- Your phone number when you place a call to a business phone line that DuoTec operates, along with the date and time of that call.
- Account information for clients who sign in to a DuoTec dashboard, limited to an email address and authentication credentials.
- Basic technical information your browser sends automatically, such as IP address, which we use for security and abuse prevention.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Respond to your inquiry and follow up about work you asked us about.
- Deliver the services a client has engaged us for, including the missed-call text-back service.
- Operate, secure, and improve our website and dashboards.
- Meet legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it to data brokers.
SMS and text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We may share mobile information with service providers who help us deliver the messaging service itself — for example, our telecommunications provider, which transmits the message on our behalf. Those providers may use the information only to deliver the message and for no other purpose.
- Message frequency varies. Messages are sent in response to your activity, such as placing a call that we could not answer.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
To opt out, reply STOP to any message you receive from us. You will get a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and we will send no further messages to that number. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details at the end of this policy.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of vendors to host this site and store data. Each processes information only on our instructions:
- Hosting and site delivery.
- Database and authentication, where form submissions and call records are stored.
- Email delivery, used to send you a confirmation and to notify us of a new inquiry.
- Telecommunications, used to receive calls and send text messages.
We do not authorize any of these providers to use your information for their own marketing.
Retention and security
We keep inquiry and call records for as long as we need them to serve you and to keep ordinary business records, then delete them. Access to stored data is restricted to DuoTec personnel who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we use industry standard measures such as encrypted connections and access controls.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will act on reasonable requests. Opting out of text messages does not remove information you previously sent us through the form, and deleting your records does not undo messages already sent.
Children
This site and our services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the site or our messaging service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
